Sapling Pumpkin Spritz cocktail recipe

40ml Sapling Gin
50ml Pumpkin & Nutmeg Juice*
10ml Lime Juice
Topped with Sparkling Water Ice

Garnish:
Pumpkin Crisp*

*To make some yummy homemade Pumpkin & Nutmeg Juice you'll need:

Ingredients:

2 cups fresh pumpkin (peeled and cubed, keep the peel)
½ tsp ground nutmeg or fresh grated nutmeg
2-3 tbsp honey or maple syrup
3 cups water
1 tbsp fresh lemon juice (

    Instructions:

    1. Prep the Pumpkin: Peel and cube the fresh pumpkin. You can also roast it for a deeper flavour, but raw works fine too.
    2. Blend: Add the pumpkin cubes to a blender along with the water (or coconut water). Blend until smooth.
    3. Strain (optional): For a smoother juice, strain the mixture through a fine sieve or cheesecloth. If you like it pulpy, you can skip this step.
    4. Add Nutmeg: Stir in the nutmeg and adjust the quantity based on your preference for spiciness.
    5. Sweeten & Serve: Add honey or maple syrup if desired, and stir in the lemon juice to balance the flavors. Serve chilled or over ice.

To make this cocktail as zero waste as possible don't throw away the peel of the pumpkin. Instead you can make crisps out of them but removing any excess moisture from them with a kitchen towel. Add some seasoning and a dash of oil to the peel. But them in the oven or airfryer on a low heat and watch yourself make some delicious zero waste treats that make for an impressive garnish for you sustainable cocktail.

    Method:
Now that you have all your ingredients prepped it the final and simplest step left. Build all ingredients in glass over ice, give it a gentle stir before garnishing with you homemade pumpkin crisp. Climate positive and delicious indeed!
