Here's everything you actually need in your cocktail kit to be a true Sapling mixologist1
We asked our talented brand advocacy managers, who between them have years of experience as premium mixologists, what are the essentials for the perfect cocktail kit. So here it is, the secret to becoming a climate conscious Sapling bartender!
Stainless Steel Tin on Tin Cocktail Shaker
Quality mixers make all the difference! Some of our favourite brands are:
If you invest in a premium mixer, you can add a depth of flavour without buying/making lots of different ingredients.
Good ice is key! You can use this article here to find out what the 6 best types of ice to use in cocktails are.
Using things you already have- for example jams are a great sugar syrup replacement for shaken drinks. We’ve found this B Corp brand Fearne and Rosie who are ‘on a mission to bring back the jam into British households with [their] more fruit, less sugar range of healthier jams.’
Chill your glasses if your drink is served without ice. This makes the world of difference! An ice cold cocktail will give you a smoother and silkier liquid, so slow down and chill your glass. There’s no need to rush cocktail making.
Use citric or tartaric acids to help add longevity to your homemade cordials and syrups. One of our favourite brands at the moment are Supasawa,
Pre-batch for parties. Prebatched cocktails allow you to appreciate the moment with less faff and stress, so you can enjoy time spent with those around you. Every member of the Sapling team has a pre-batched bottle of Sapling Martini and Sapling Negroni in their freezer. You never know when you’re going to need it! Keeping these pre-batches in the freezer results in an almost syrup-like texture that really allows the liquid to sing. We always prioritise a drink which cultivates the sacred in the simple, the ceremony in the sip.
Save Aquafaba from your chickpeas for a vegan egg white replacement. Our favourite has to be the Bold Bean Organic Chickpeas, they’re rich in protein with a luxurious and natural aquafaba that can froth up our Sapling Sours!
Make sure to save your food prep scraps! You can use them in homemade infusions and ingredients, for example mint stalks or cucumber ends, so you have deliciously fresh and natural flavours to use in your cocktails!
We hope these little tips and tricks give you the confidence to create your own at home mixology station!
